One of the top five names that will definitely pop to mind when thinking of home-style Thai. Around longer than most of the other famous Thai restaurants, Taling Pling has expanded to include six branches.
The Sukhumvit Soi 34 branch is whimsically decorated with colourful chairs and checkered floor patterns. Wall-to-ceiling glass adds to the modern feel. The menu still retains classic Thai staples that Taling Pling is so famous for. Tom yum kung, beef curry, ox tongue stew, crispy pork lardons omelette and yum pla salid are all excellent choices. The drinks and desserts menu have been updated with exotic Thai fruit cocktails and Western-style desserts. The recent modern touches are all thanks to owner Thipmani Chanavonge’s young daughter, who recently took up the task of running this expanding Thai cuisine empire.
